The official Last Survivor YouTube channel announced Joseph Joestar in a live stream on August 24, 2024, during the “NEW GENERATION CHAMPIONSHIP 2024”. The update that will make him playable releases later on September 4, 2024. Before Joseph, Leone Abbacchio joined the roster on June 5, 2024.

Joseph is the first character from Battle Tendency to be added, and is currently the only non-Stand user in the game, as every other character is from Parts 3-6. He is a new “Ripple” (Hamon) type character.

Moveset

Joseph’s attack is “Clacker Boomerang”, where he throws his clackers as projectiles charged with the Ripple. Damage increases against vampires.

His passive skill is “Running Away”. When Joseph’s health falls below a certain value, temporarily increases his dash speed when he takes damage.

As a Ripple type character, Joseph can charge his Ripple energy with the skill “Ripple Breathing”. By pressing the L2 button at the right time, Joseph adjusts his breathing to create the Ripple. If the button is released within the yellow range, the amount the unique Ripple gauge rises will increase. Joseph glows with an aura when the gauge is full. When this aura is active, his movement speed and attack power will increase, and a knockback effect will be added to “Clacker Boomerang”.

His skill, “Ripple Hair Attack”, creates a barrier out of hair charged with the Ripple in front of him. Barriers can prevent enemy attacks, and allow attacks from Joseph and his allies to pass through. Enemies that touch the barrier will receive damage.

His ultimate skill is “Overdrive”. It temporarily increases Joseph’s attack power, defense power, and movement speed. His Ripple gauge also reaches MAX. During the effect period, a large jump can be performed by holding down the A button. Landing recovery time is also reduced.
