The February 2022 issue of Ultra Jump that released today on January 19, 2023 in Japan includes two new previews of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure‘s upcoming ninth part, The JOJOLands.
In addition to revealing the protagonist, it reveals the premise of the plot. The JOJOLands releases next month on February 17, 2023 in the March 2023 issue of Ultra Jump. The series will release monthly in the magazine alongside the spin-off manga JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Crazy Diamond’s Demonic Heartbreak.
Next Issue Preview
Ultra Jump’s next issue preview showcases a large drawing of the protagonist’s face, revealing that he is the same character that Hirohiko Araki drew for the 2023 New Year card. The boy has lightly colored hair with a side braid on his right side. He wears a star ornament on the braid and his front bangs cover his left eye.
In addition, the page displays the main character on a boat with another character, who appears to be wearing a headband. The protagonist’s outfit seems to consist of a light hoodie with a dark hood and dark pants.
Premise
This is the story of a boy, in the subtropical islands, who goes on to become extremely rich.
Part 9 teases what the story will revolve around like the previous two parts in the second continuity of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
In Chapter 2 of Steel Ball Run, Johnny Joestar states “This story is the tale of me starting to walk. Not in the physical sense… but in an adolescence-to adulthood-sort of way…”.
Moreover, the first chapter of JoJolion has Yasuho Hirose stating “This is a story about breaking a curse…”.
